Inspired by a shaktipat experience on Makar Sankrati, January 14, 2019, a holy day each year when Ayyappan appears to many devotees. It also marks the day when the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn. Lord Ayyappan came and hugged me, so I drew a picture to commemorate this experience.
One of Lord Ayyappan's 108 names is Bhumidaya, Lord of the Earth.

The poem and the drawing were inspired by an experience that I had while watching a wasp drink water out of the birdbath in my backyard in Kalamazoo, MI in 2005.
