Navagraha (Planetary Deity) Poetry
from Chapter 8 of Driven by the Divine

The Navagraha are the nine deities in Hindu astrology: Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Budha (Mercury), Shukracharya (Venus),  Mangala (Mars), Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shani (Saturn), Rahu, and Ketu (maker of eclipses).

My senior guru, Shivalinga Swamy, possessed many siddhis (powers)  and abilities. Predictive astrology was one of those. He was a jyotishi, a Vedic astrologer known in South India. He wrote the Navagraha poetry and songs through me. I wrote them down, but he actually “wrote them.” He and Vinnuacharya took me to all of the Navagraha temples in Tamil Nadu. They taught me how to perform pujas for the deities, and as a result, I became a Navagraha priestess.

Each poem is a song that can be found on my YouTube channel. They are also available in Chapter 8 of
my book, Driven by the Divine, along with accompanying stories.
