Shukracharya – Shiva’s Son

Seated on a throne made of diamonds, made of jewels,
Body pure as crystal, he’s perfect as a pearl.
Fond of cream and camphor, sugar, juice and milk,
Scented oil and poetry – his garments are made of silk.

Knowing all the scriptures, the Vedas and Vedangas,
Bright and brilliant treasure, preceptor of the daityas.
Pulverizing karmas and all negative afflictions,
Moving in the region of the Jyestha lunar mansion.

Shining like the fiber of jasmine, snowy white,
Marriage is auspicious when blessed within his sight.
Wearing mala of rudraksha, protective ancient one,
With sanjivini vidya, he is Shukra, Shiva’s son.

God who is unbounded, he cannot be restrained,
Bestowing liberation and eliminating pain.
Overseer of the clouds, tranquil and refined.
He’s the maker of samadhi, samadhi in the mind.

Om drahm drim draum saha Shukraya namaha.
